Bits & Bobs @ Kong Heng Square, Ipoh

Before I visited Plan B, I went to Bits & Bobs and tried out their famous ice ball during a hot sunny day.
Bits & Bobs sells ice ball with the old favourite syrups, homemade ice potongs, red bean drink , ice sticks and old sweets. Inside the shop, there are also lots of antique stuffs such as retro furniture, vintage items and more. It is located near Missing Marbles and Plan B.

Such an antique shop, right?

Priced at RM3, Ice Ball is available in 4 flavours. The name of the ice ball are
all so special!

Jeng jeng!! Nishi Bomb ( Sarsi + Asam)

Ning Nong (Gula Melaka + Lychee)
Sadly, the syrup was all over my hand as it melt down :/

FYI, Bits & Bobs also selling locks and allow you to write a message on it ! :)
Do check it out @ 99, Jalan Sultan Yussuf, Kong Heng Square, 30000 Ipoh, Perak

Ipoh Food Trip!

Hello everyone! :D I just came back from Ipoh two days ago with my sister and friend. Our main purpose of this trip was simply for hunting awesome foods in Ipoh with the recommendations of my sister's friends, Yoon Mei and Weng Kar. Without them, it won't be a successful trip as they being our tour guide and lead us all the way in Ipoh. Thanks so much! :D

忠记兵如港大树脚炸料粉
It is a popular spot for cheap and satisfying meal. There are a lot of hawker stalls but we only came for the famous Yong Tao Fu stall. We can see the big crowd once we reached there.

 Red Bean Ice
There are variety of drinks here, such as mixed fruits drink, corn juice drink and so on.
Ordered by my sister's friend, this red bean ice was the best I've ever tasted.
It's blended with red beans and super freshing!

炸料 Deep Fried Stuffed Fish Paste
The deep fried stuffed was so fresh and tempting. It can either serve with deep fried or with soup.
We ordered Laksa along and it was my first try eating laksa with deep fried stuffed.
It was suprisingly good :D

 Laksa

Thumbs up for this great combination and I started miss it already D:

Next, we had try the famous Ipoh White Coffee @ Sin Yuen Loong 新源隆茶餐室 which located at Persiaran Bijeh Timah, Ipoh. The white coffee here is really SUPERB!
We tried a cup of coffee and toasted bread with kaya butter.

Ipoh White Coffee

Toasted Bread with Kaya Butter
So called the perfect breakfast right? nomnommm.

Sis's friend packed Egg Tarts from Nan Heong Coffee Shop 南香茶餐室. A coffee shop which is well known for their original Ipoh white coffee and egg tarts. FYI, it is located right opposite Sin Yoon Loong. The egg custard is really smooth and the pastry skin is crispy. So tasty! heh.

Caramel Custard
Caramel custard is a must try @ Thean Chun 天津茶室 which located at Jalan Bandar Timah.
It is a cold dish and very soft. However, the taste of caramel is quite strong.

The famous Ipoh Chicken Horfun ordered by sister's friend.

Then, we went to the famous Tao Fu Fah in town @奇峰豆腐花 Funny Mountain Tao Fu Fah which located at Jalan Theatre, Ipoh.

The Tao Fu Fah is smooth and serve with sugar syrup.

Soya Bean Drink
It is the famous best Tao Fu Fah and soya bean drink in town. Available for dine in or drive thru.
Portion is small but value for money and enough for after meal dessert.
After that, we went to Plan B as we planned about it earlier. Thanks to my sister's friend again for bringing us there :D The environment is modern and cozy but I personally think that food are over priced.

I will blog about it in another post, stay tuned guys! :)

Tried Ice Ball @ Bits And Bobs as well! ;)

Aun Kheng Lim Salted Chicken 宴琼林盐炬鸡
Salted Herbal Chicken has become one of the famous food in Ipoh. For the last stop before we went back to Penang, we bought 3 whole chicken to be brought back home.

We also bought Kaya Puff from Sin Eng Heong 新荣香. It's really tasty!
Besides that, we also visited KTM Ipoh, Ipoh Kek Lok Tong, Kinta Riverfront@ River Walk, Ernest 'Openg' Mural and passed by STG Tea House Cafe. It was definitely a great trip and I'm looking forward to next visit :D

Bali Bali Cafe Gurney Drive, Penang

Discovered Bali Bali Cafe introduced by a friend of mine yesterday. It is located along Gurney Drive and known as Coffee Island previously. The attraction of this cafe is their 3D Coffee Art! :D
I have always been looking for places with 3D Coffee Art besides 55 Cafe Penang. Came into realize that this cafe also serves 3D Coffee Art with reasonable price. It is definitely an ideal place to take a break here and free wifi is provided! Will be back again for sure :)

Very very cute 3D Coffee Art as the cover for menu~

The price of coffee is reasonable that we can afford. FYI, they are having promotion where they are doing 3D Art on your coffee for free instead of paying RM3.

There are a lot of varieties of coffee in the menu but only certain type of coffee serves with 3D Coffee Art. Look out for the CAT sign on the menu which means it serves with Coffee Art.

Caffe Latte
This is a Hello Kitty on top of the latte. The taste of the latte is acceptable yet nice!

Hot Cappucino
This time, they made the coffee art of the CAT like it's holding the side of the cup on the Cappucino. It was too cute to drink the coffee hehe!

 Macchiato
The barista satisfied my request by making 3D Hello Kitty on top of my cuppa again! The taste is
not very strong but still it's nice for me .

Overall, it is a suitable place for gathering or coffee break. FYI, they provide indoor and outdoor seating. It is so much quiet during noon time which allow you to enjoy a cuppa here with relaxing music and environment. For more info: Bali Bali Cafe Facebook Page

Lastly, ending this post with a picture of the blogger with Hello Kitty Coffee ! :)

Harvest Inn Cafe @ Irrawaddy Road, Penang

I think most Penangites are familiar with Harvest Inn Cafe which located at Irrawaddy Road.
Looking for affordable and scrumptious western food? I would recommend this cafe to all of you!
I've always wanted to visit this cafe and my friend suggested this place for lunch during meet up.
Feel quite surprise for the quick food serving as I thought it will be late during peak lunch hour.

 Black Pepper Chicken
Grilled boneless chicken served with black pepper sauce, mashed potato and fresh vegetables.
The portion is big and chicken is tender enough. I like the mashed pototoes the most because it tastes suprisingly good and being placed below the chicken.

 Fish And Chips
Deep fried fish fillet in golden crumbs is served with tartare sauce, chips and vegetables.
The fried fish is crispy on the outside while the flesh of the fish is tender and tastes fresh on the inside. FYI, there are no service charge or government tax.
It's definitely worth the money! :D
